Radio Morning Show Comes to Hall
People started lining up, in the wee hours of the morning outside, more than a hundred in fact and long before the sun was up, to get a chance to meet their favorite radio jocks as the FM99 Morning Show came to the Hall of Fame. They were there to meet Tommy and Rumble who are on the second stop of a ten week, ten stop tour of Hampton Roads in celebration of their 10th anniversary on the air together.
Oh yes, and there was the lure of a special giveaway.. 1000 gallons of gas!
Using wireless microphones, the radio team roamed the Hall signing autographs, playing games with visitors, and in general causing chaos. Between pre-recorded barbs tossed at the city, and interviews with the vice mayor, Miss Seawall, the sheriff and others, they managed to deliver the news, sports and weather with their own special brand of… enthusiasm. At one point, they managed to hijack the Hall of Honor and, for a few minutes, attempted to enshrine their own sports director into the Hall.
For the more than 650 people who came out between 530am and 10am, when they signed off the air for the day, the duo did not disappoint.
Congratulations Tommy and Rumble on ten years of mayhem. And thank you for sharing it with us at the Hall of Fame.
