VSHF Announces Plans for Hall of Fame Weekend 2005
The time is coming. The Hall is almost ready. And on April 22, 2005, we will dedicate the new, expanded Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. The only thing missing in our plans is you.
Together we will celebrate the opening of the new, 35,000 square foot, interactive family attraction in Downtown Portsmouth with a weekend of fun and festivities including:
The Grand Opening Ceremony
Friday
@ 11 a.m.
Join us as a special guest as we open the doors for the very first time to the public and officially dedicate the new, expanded Sports Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame Celebrity Gala
Friday @ 8 p.m.
This is the newest addition to our Hall of Fame Weekend festivities. Join inductees, invited celebrities, local business executives and special guests for a private party with music, food, prizes and a special auction of sports memorabilia and collectables.
12th Annual Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Tournament
Saturday @ 8:30 a.m.
Our annual tradition has a new home at the beautiful Bide-a-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth as part of the Hall of Fame Weekend. Join famous athletes, celebrities and inductees for breakfast, a round of "Captain's Choice" golf, and a luncheon with door-prizes and special gifts for all.
34th Annual Induction Banquet
Saturday @ 6 p.m.
Join us in honoring the Hall of Fame Class of 2005 at the Induction Banquet. It starts in the afternoon with a social hour and reception, followed by the formal ceremony at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center.
