Virginia's US Senators Make a Pit Stop At Hall of Fame

August 1, 2005 - While in the area, it seems that Virginia's political leadership just can't stay away form the new Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. On Monday, Senators John Warner and George Allen, along with Portsmouth's own Mayor James Holley, paid an unexpected but welcomed visit to the new Hall.

For Senator Allen, it was not his first time at the new building, having served as the keynote speaker at the dedication ceremonies in April.

Both men said they enjoyed the tour and the competitive spirit took hold when they took the wheel at the Auto Racing Exhibit's NASCAR Simulators.  And of course there was a stop at the Redskins Skybox Experience where items from the career of Coach George Allen are displayed.
